Carmelo Cacciola

Carmelo Cacciola: a musician born in Sicily and he is a singer, guitar and lauto player (the Cretan lute).  He was part of Unavantaluna Sicilian Music Company since its foundation in 2004 and he  released with them  3 albums. His musical training developed in Messina, his birthplace, with the study of the guitar and with the participation in groups of popular Sicilian music, with the teacher Orazio Corsaro. After moving in Rome in 1990, he perfected his studies that will lead him to explore the lands of jazz, blues and of the Greek and Cretan tradition with the teachers Giulia Salsone, Maurizio Lazzaro, Gavrilis Simotas and Giorgos Manolakis. He is a Winner with Unavantaluna of the Parodi 2013 (the most important world music award in Italy) and Zagara d'Argento 2016 award and with the greek singer Filio 'Sotiraki of the 2000 Pegaso d'Oro Award. He also played in hundreds of concerts.
