Francesco Sultana

Francesco Sultana Francesco Sultana is mainly a self taught woodwind and percussion player from Rabat, Malta. He is mostly known locally for his work in crafting and playing traditional woodwind instruments and as the clarinetist and percussionist behind the local alternative band Plato's Dream Machine. He is one of the few makers left who crafted the Maltese Żaqq, a type of bagpipe very similar to the Greek Tsambouna. In 2018, Francesco also participated in the pancycladic gathering of tsambouna players of Greece. World music is probably the best genre of music he identifies and feels comfortable with.
